Story

The painting comes from the private estate of the well-known Munich painter Dieter Brändle and depicts Georg Elser, the failed assassin of Adolf Hitler, in the captivity of the Nazi Secret State Police (Gestapo).

After the failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler on 8 November 1939 at the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich, he was executed at Dachau concentration camp.
